3 Steps to Change Wrong to Right

3 Steps to Change Wrong to Right

Courage Of Course!

Even if you stay true to what you believe in, be sure to remain flexible. A true leader does not hold rigidly to a path he or she has chosen in the past when that path turns out to be the wrong one. You know how it feels when you’ve made a decision that doesn’t seem to be working out. You want to believe things will change for the better, but you know in your heart of hearts that it won’t.

That is, when you as a leader can set an example, and have the courage to change course; which in turn, inspires your employees around you to take action to change things in their work course that are not particularly working for them. Once you identify the fears behind your excuses for the situation, you can then find the courage to make the necessary change/s that you already know you need to make. Some of the fears keeping you in that current path, which may sound familiar: disappointing others; losing a status symbol; being judged by others; starting over, and wasted time.

The first step: Dump the doubt. No matter how intimidating it seems now, you have to tell yourself, whatever your goal is, you can get there.

Second step: Silence the skeptics, even if the most skeptical one is you.

Step three: Banish the “if only…”, and innovate on what you do have/ what your working with.

And of course finally: Be fearless! Have the courage to make the necessary changes. Often, taking the first step seems to be the hardest part, but truly, it doesn’t have to be.

Think about what the smallest step you could take to start the process and take it! Be willing to follow, lead, or sit down.
